This has been pinpointed as an ideal location because the rural aspect, together with the fisheries at Milton Brook, attracting many unusual varieties of birds all year round. Our cheeky resident herons can often be seen by the lakeside hoping to catch a hearty breakfast.
The Milton Brook Estate is bordered on 3 sides by the River Gowy and habitat has been created to encourage Barn Owls and Little Owls. During early evening you will often see a barn owl flying over the estate. The breeding program for buzzards in this area is appearing very successful and sightings of these magnificent birds of prey are a common occurrence at Milton Brook.
Some parts of the River Gowy have been selected as an ideal place to reintroduced Otters into the Cheshire countryside. Signs that they have taken up residence along the banks of the River Gowy are evident but at the time of writing this, no confirmed sightings have yet been made. If you are lucky enough to see these elusive creatures on the estate, we would be pleased to hear about it!
